A classic Mexican drink made by blending fresh ripe mangoes with cold water and serving over plenty of ice. Naturally sweet, light and refreshing, and ready in just 10 minutes with 3 simple ingredients.
2cupsAtaulfo mangofinely chopped (it's 4 large Ataulfo mangos)
6cupscold wateradjust to taste*
Lots of ice cubes
1smalllimeoptional and to taste
sugar or sweeteneroptional and to taste
Instructions
Place the chopped mango into the blender cup, pour in 2 cups of water and blend until smooth. If using sugar you can add it in now.
Add lots of ice cubes to a large pitcher, then pour in the mango mixture. If you used a mango variety that's fibrous, you will want to strain the mixture into the pitcher.
Pour in the remaining water and mix well. You can add less or more water depending on the consistency and flavor you want. If using lime juice mix it in now.
Serve ice cold in glassed filled with plenty of ice cubes.
If you'd like you can decorate each glass with a fresh mint leaf, a slice of lime, a Tajin rim, or chopped mango.
Notes
*You can add less or more cold water to make the agua fresca as concentrated or diluted as you'd like. Please note that the nutritional information are estimates and will depend on the mango variety you use as well as if you use any sweetener.
