Homemade applesauce is so easy to make and tastes much better than store-bought. This vegan applesauce recipe is made Mexican style and you're going to love the fusion flavors!
Place all of the ingredients inside the pot of a pressure cooker or a heavy pot on the stovetop.
Pressure cook for 5 minutes on high then allow to sit for 5 minutes before releasing pressure. Cook on the stove until soft and mushy.
Use a potato masher to mash the cooked apples until you achieve the texture you'd like. This is perfect for a rustic, chunkier applesauce.
You can also use a stick blender to blend the applesauce until completely smooth.
If you'd like you can now cook for a few minutes to allow it to thicken up a bit more.
