Mexican style steak is cooked in a rich, flavorful tomato sauce and this version is vegan!
Heat the oil in a large pan. Once hot lay the mushrooms in an even layer. Sprinkle the seasonings & Maggi sauce over them. Push down to cook.
Cook the mushrooms until golden and crispy on both sides. Remove from heat and set aside.
Cook the onion, jalapeno, garlic and tomatoes until the tomatoes break down into a thick sauce.
Mix in the cooked mushrooms and cook for a few more minutes before serving.
