In today’s video, I’m sharing a quick and easy recipe for cooking the nopales. It’s a nice and basic recipe that’s perfect for nopal beginners — actually everyone will enjoy these nopales.

It’s so simple but it’s packed of delicious taste and also happens to be my current favourite way of eating nopales. If you’ve ever wanted to try making nopales at home, this is a great recipe to start with.

Ok, let’s get cooking!

Watch the recipe video right below this paragraph or you can also view it on my YouTube channel in case you can’t see it here.

The nopales are tender and a little citrusy but the sweetness of the onion and cooked tomato compliment it so well. Then there’s that last touch of heat from the chiles. Hmm delicious! It’s just something you must taste for yourself.

These nopales can be served as a side dish to any of your Mexican favourites, or you can just grab a fork and dig right in. If you’d like you can also top the nopales with some crumbled queso fresco. Alternatively you can use these nopales as a filling for tacos, quesadillas, burritos, sopes and gorditas.

If you have any leftovers you can scramble in some eggs and enjoy some breakfast tacos — they taste so delicious!
